Chris Alexis

Personal Trainer

Chinese Martial Arts Instructor

Chris is an experienced health and fitness trainer that started his personal fitness journey in 2000. He had a new job in outside sales that was a great opportunity, but after 3 years he had gained 30lbs and wasn’t sure how to go about fixing that. He tried the traditional approaches; he found a gym to start working out and tried to eat healthier but found himself following whatever diet craze was popular at that moment and nothing created lasting effects. After a few years of failed attempts, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to achieve his fitness goals without the help of a professional.

Chris had initially been introduced to Tai Chi in 1999. Understanding that it was a very low impact form of exercise that would be gentle on his joints, he felt confident he could stick with it easier than other practices and decided to start there. In 2008, after training with Tai Chi and Kung Fu for over 8 years, the changing business landscape prompted a personal and professional reinvention, and he began training with P90X and became a certified instructor of the program in 2010. With found success and a strong belief in coached approaches to fitness, he continued to expand his skills and became a certified instructor in Chinese Martial Arts in 2014. Then, in 2016, he became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

In 2021, Chris decided it was time to transition from working in a franchise environment and started his independent fitness and martial arts practices. He is excited to have his own studio here at The Center of Healing Arts and strongly believes that the key to sustained results in personal health is a regimented and systematic approach with an instructor providing objective advice and guidance.

Naturopath

Chris was in his twenties when he was struck down with several viruses, including Epstein Barr and chronic fatigue syndrome from previous lifestyle choices. Traditional medicine was unable to help him, and he found his way to a respected Columbus osteopath, Dr. Shearer. Using natural methods, unfamiliar to Chris and many others in his life at that time, he was able to help Chris restore his health. The opportunity granted to Chris next would pave the way for what would become his life’s calling and mission. He was taken under Dr. Shearer’s wing and started training him in the ways of natural health and healing. At his clinic, Dr. Shearer had several different practitioners that worked under him, all with different specialties and strengths. The results of this approach were outstanding. Chris witnessed many people that were told they would never get better restore their health completely.

Chris became hungry for knowledge and threw himself into studying what he observed and considered to be the most effective modalities in the natural healing arts. Over the next 20+ years he earned three Master level degrees and a doctorate and became obsessed with finding talented master practitioners to learn from. Chris feels blessed with having been able to study with so many amazing healers over the years and continues to this day studying different techniques and modalities to provide more complete, holistic care to his clients. Though he is no longer taking clients for individual treatment, he has currently focused his efforts on developing an herbal education forum to study under him.

The culmination of all this experience and education is his own clinic, where he's brought along several practitioners who all work together to support people in their healing journey. Chris's goal is that through The Center of Healing Arts he can empower the individual to cut through the sometimes endless and confusing information surrounding health and empower and teach people what they need, on an individual level, to thrive in the modern world.

Christina Krisciunas

Registered Dietitian

Christina grew up in upstate New York and received her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and philosophy, as well as her master’s degree in social work, from SUNY Albany. She then moved to Ohio in 2009 and studied at Sinclair College in Dayton for her DTR (Dietetics Technician, Registered), receiving certification in 2015. From there she continued her studies in the Registered Dietitian/Coordinated Program at University of Cincinnati, graduating in 2019.

Since then, she has worked in multiple clinical areas including Long-term care, Acute Care/Rehab Hospitals, Functional Medicine, and Behavioral/Psych units. Additionally, she teaches cooking classes with a local Functional Medicine MD and is an adjunct professor at Sinclair College teaching Human Nutrition.

Christina came to integrative and naturopathic care through her oldest of two sons, both of whom are now grown. He had multiple food allergies/sensitivities as an infant and she was determined to get to the root cause of the issue and not just treat the symptoms. She sought out naturopathic care and with the combination of muscle testing, food elimination, stool testing, supplements, and herbal remedies, his gut was healed, and numerous sensitivities/allergies were resolved, much to the astonishment of their traditional western doctors.

When it comes to her personal practices of nutrition, she raised her family on a traditional ‘whole foods’ diet. She is very experienced in dietary psychology and the gut/brain connection and truly believes that 'food is medicine'. She is ready to meet you wherever you are in your journey and looks forward to working together on your specific, individual health goals and aspirations for well-being.

Dave Scarbrough

Hypnosis • Reiki • Meditation Training

Sound Healing • Breathwork • Life Coaching

Emotional Freedom Technique

After earning degrees in business management and social work, Dave worked in the corporate world for a couple decades before he was inspired to start asking and exploring some of the larger questions in life like, “Who am I?”, “Why are we here?”, and “How should we live?” This was about 20 years ago, and he decided at that time to begin a dedicated meditation practice. This led him to the study of Hypnosis and Reiki, both of which he continues to study and practice today in the form of Hypnosis and Reiki sessions, as well as Reiki classes. Since then, he has broadened his practice through studying and receiving certifications in Meditation Training, Sound Healing, HeartMath® Breathwork, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Life Coaching. All these holistic modalities have given him a more positive outlook on life, and he uses them to help others do the same. Everyone’s needs are different, but Dave greatly values his diverse experience and training, allowing him to tailor his treatment to meet the individual needs of any that engage with his services. Above all else, Dave hopes to assist clients with accessing their own innate healing abilities to combat whatever struggles they’re experiencing.

Reiki Classes

Dave began practicing Reiki over 20 years ago, and eventually developed Reiki coursework that has been licensed by a distance learning website named Universal Class where he has received glowing reviews from those who have benefited greatly from his teaching. His classes are a combination of Westernized Reiki, Japanese Usui Reiki, and other complementary healing modalities.

Meditation Training

Numerous studies have proven that a regular meditation program can teach people to deal with stress more easily and can even help them gain insights into their current life struggles, leading them to life fuller and happier lives. Dave can help you find a meditation technique which works best for you and teach you how to meditate in just a few sessions.

Emotional Freedom Technique

This type of counseling, that has been demonstrated in numerous peer-reviewed studies, stimulates acupressure points with tapping while focusing the mind on situations that represent personal fear or trauma, allowing clients to release negative thinking, fears, or emotions caused by this trauma, and enabling them to replace those thoughts with positive ones.

Life Coaching

Once negative thinking has been replaced by a more positive mindset, it is possible to set realistic goals and find ways to make those goals a reality. Through life coaching, Dave can help you determine what goals you would like to achieve and find the action steps which make those goals more easily achieved.

Emma Morgan

Reiki Practitioner

Yoga Instructor

Therapeutic Art Teacher

Emma realized her gifts for connecting the physical world to the metaphysical world when she was a young child and was able to see angels. In college, she began developing and fine tuning her muscle in psychic connection by using channeling to create art, taking ample psychic development and channeling courses, and eventually finding Reiki. During this time, Emma also started traveling the world and discovered yoga after retiring from a 15-year gymnastics career.

She graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in art education from The Ohio State University and became an art teacher for inner city students. In this role, Emma was able to utilize her passions for human connection by celebrating diversity and cultivating loving community with art-therapy inspired art-making exercises.

All of these experiences have brought Emma to a place of uniting her talents to support individuals by: working through and releasing transgenerational and personal trauma; cultivating emotional regulation; embodying one’s natural state; and navigating their life path while providing a safe and healing environment across all modalities.

In addition to her Reiki healing, Emma also offers sessions solely dedicated to channeling, which is her ability to impart omniscient information in order to best support an individual on their life path. While this can happen in a variety of ways, Emma’s channel is one specializing in the description of visuals and metaphors used to see one’s current circumstances from a different perspective, offering the ability to navigate through life situations with valuable omniscient insights. Channeling sessions may be conducted in-person or virtually.

Ionic Foot Detox

Robby's journey into holistic healing practices began in March 2014 when she had an emergency hysterectomy. Immediately after surgery her struggles intensified and she wasn’t eliminating waste from her body as her systems were designed to operate. After suffering for a year and a half, she was suggested to try Colon Hydrotherapy. From there she was introduced to a vast world of holistic care and found a passion for working with essential oils, as they proved very useful for easing her own struggles.

Robby is passionate about natural healing and partaking in that which comes from the earth. She believes that for most prescribed medication, there is often a better, more natural approach that can provide relief and support for our systems that are in need. Approaches that don’t put one system in danger to heal another. Methods where the only known side effects are happiness, longevity, increased energy, and better digestion.

She has been a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist since 2019, a Certified Reflexologist since 2022, and has been practicing Raindrop Therapy since 2017, and Ionic Foot Detox since 2019.

She loves life, being free & living healthy. She encourages everyone to always ‘Be mindful of what enters your mouth, but most importantly what enters your mind.’

Freedom, Love, and Peace.
